Oats, fruit and filter coffee.

This is an easy and cheap meal for when you are back country hiking and on the road. Mix the oats with water instead of trying to store milk in the car. For sweetness or extra flavour for your coffee, take a few extra sugar packets and UHT portions when you are in a garage, fast food chain or convenience store. Bananas and apples are inexpensive, although bananas won’t fare well on back country camping trips.

Instant mash and Beans.

Super filling meal great before a hike, or if you just fancy a change to your routine. Not the most glamourous, but that isn’t the life of a roadtripper!
